Taxomate vs A2X Pricing: 2026 Cost by Order Volume

September 2026 · 7 min read · by the Earnly team · Updated September 2026

Taxomate is cheaper than A2X at every published volume, usually by half or more. Taxomate starts at $12 a month billed annually for one sales channel; A2X starts at $29 a month for one channel and up to 200 orders. At four channels and 5,000 combined orders it is $58 against $169, and at 50,000 orders it is $299 against $719. The gap is real and it is not a trick of matching the wrong tiers. What A2X charges the premium for is ecosystem rather than features: NetSuite support, and the fact that most ecommerce bookkeepers already know it.

Both tools solve the same specific problem. You sell on Amazon or Shopify, the marketplace batches two weeks of sales, refunds, referral fees, fulfillment fees, sales tax and reserves into one deposit, and that deposit lands in your bank feed matching nothing in your books. A2X and Taxomate both decompose the settlement and post one summarized journal entry that reconciles to the penny against the deposit. That is the whole job. The question is what it should cost.

We checked both vendors' own pricing pages in the first week of September 2026, and cross-checked the A2X figures against A2X's own per-channel pages rather than trusting a comparison table, because in this category the comparison tables are mostly written by one of the two vendors.

How much does Taxomate cost?

Taxomate publishes three plans. Starter is $12 a month billed annually, which the page shows as $144 a year, and covers one sales channel with unlimited marketplaces, unlimited historical data and cost of goods sold tracking. Multi-channel adds unlimited sales channel connections. QuickBooks Inventory Sync sits on top and adds FBA inventory sync, fee breakdown per SKU, inventory on sales invoices and inventory history. All three include email and chat support, 1:1 onboarding and a 14 day trial, and annual billing is promoted as saving 17%.

One thing to understand before you quote a Taxomate price to anyone: taxomate.com/pricing is a calculator, not a fixed tier table. You enter your monthly sales orders and your channel count and it returns a figure. The $12 Starter number is the floor of that calculator, not a flat rate you hold forever. Taxomate does publish specific Multi-channel prices at named volumes on its own comparison pages, and those are the numbers in the table below.

Taxomate connects Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Walmart and Etsy, and posts into QuickBooks Online, Xero or Wave.

How much does A2X cost?

A2X charges per sales channel by monthly order count. Mini is $29 a month for up to 200 orders on Amazon, Shopify, Etsy or eBay, then $45 for 500 orders, $79 for 2,000, $115 for 5,000 and $159 for 10,000, with the published ladder running to $1,499 a month at 250,000 orders. Amazon has a Starter tier at $59 for 1,000 orders that the other channels do not, and Walmart is a separate ladder with no $29 plan at all, starting at $79.

A2X also sells multi-channel bundles priced on combined orders across every connected channel, which is the part most comparisons leave out: $89 for 1,000 orders across 2 channels, $169 for 5,000 across 4, and $229 for 10,000 across 5. Those bundles are what you should compare against Taxomate, not four stacked single-channel plans. We put every A2X tier for every channel side by side on our A2X pricing breakdown.

Which is cheaper, Taxomate or A2X?

Taxomate, at every volume where both vendors publish a comparable figure. The table matches them on combined monthly orders and uses A2X's multi-channel bundles rather than stacked per-channel plans, which is the fairest reading for A2X.

Your setup Taxomate A2X Cheaper by

5 channels, 50,000 combined orders$299 Multi$719 Multi 50KTaxomate, $420

Read the channel column too, because it moves in Taxomate's favor again. A2X's multi-channel bundles cap at 5 sales channels on the published tiers. Taxomate's Multi-channel plan describes sales channel connections as unlimited at every volume. A seller running Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, Walmart and a second Amazon marketplace is at the edge of A2X's published ladder and nowhere near a limit on Taxomate's.

Over a year the difference stops being a rounding error. At 5,000 combined orders the gap is $111 a month, so $1,332 a year, for two products that both post a summarized settlement entry into QuickBooks Online or Xero.

Where A2X actually earns the extra money

It would be dishonest to run those numbers and stop, because plenty of sellers who see both prices still choose A2X and are not being foolish. Three reasons hold up.

The first is NetSuite. A2X posts into QuickBooks Online, Xero and NetSuite. Taxomate lists QuickBooks Online, Xero and Wave. If your business has outgrown QuickBooks and moved to NetSuite, this comparison is over before price enters it, and no saving matters. It runs the other way too: Taxomate supports Wave, and A2X does not publish Wave support, so a Wave user has the reverse of the same problem.

The second is that your bookkeeper probably already knows A2X. It was Xero's 2025 US Small Business App of the Year and holds roughly 4.9 out of 5 across more than 300 G2 reviews. Ecommerce accountants ask for it by name, have templates built around its entry format, and will not need to learn anything. If you pay a bookkeeper $200 to $400 a month, an hour of their unfamiliarity costs more than a couple of months of the price difference. That argument is real, and it is also finite: it applies to the first month, not the fifth year.

The third is simply install base. A2X is the older and larger product, which means more edge cases already found and fixed across marketplaces, currencies and tax jurisdictions. That is not something you can verify from a pricing page, and it is worth something.

What is not on that list is a feature gap in the core job. For a seller on QuickBooks Online or Xero who wants clean settlement entries, both tools do it, and one costs a third as much.

Do you need either one yet?

Possibly not. Intuit publishes first-party connectors for Amazon, Shopify, eBay and Etsy that are included with any paid QuickBooks Online plan at no extra charge, and below roughly a few hundred orders a month per channel they cover the work. Their limit is specific rather than vague: they post at order level, and a bank deposit is a settlement, so as volume climbs you find yourself matching several hundred order entries against one batched deposit. When that review turns into a rubber stamp, a settlement tool starts paying for itself in bookkeeper hours.

Two traps in the free route are worth knowing. The Etsy connector is not available on QuickBooks Online Solopreneur at $20 a month, so an Etsy seller who picked Solopreneur on price has to move up to Simple Start at $38 before the free option appears at all. And the Amazon connector replaced an older settlement-report integration, so sellers who migrated lost settlement-level reconciliation and got a single undifferentiated adjustment line instead. Our ecommerce accounting software comparison covers where each free route stops.

It is also worth checking you are shopping in the right category before you buy anything here. If what you actually want is inventory quantities kept straight across three channels, neither of these tools does that, and you are looking at a much more expensive shelf: our Webgility pricing breakdown covers what that costs and why the figures floating around for it are wrong.

What neither tool tells you

Both A2X and Taxomate answer an accounting question: what journal entry represents this deposit. Neither answers the business question underneath it, which is which channel is actually worth the hours. A ledger reports what happened after somebody classified it, one settlement at a time, and it is a poor place to see that Etsy netted you 71% of gross last quarter while Amazon netted 62%.

That is a different tool. An income tracker shows every payout from every platform on one board as gross, then fees, then take-home, with a payout calendar and a next-month forecast marked clearly as an estimate. It keeps no books and posts no journal entries, so it replaces neither product on this page. It answers the question sellers usually ask first, at $12 a month flat with no per-channel pricing and no order caps. Our Amazon accounting software page shows how the pieces fit for a single-marketplace seller.

One more gap neither settlement tool touches: your cost side. Advertising spend, shipping supplies, software subscriptions and contractor payments never appear in a marketplace settlement, because the marketplace never saw them. Those arrive as receipts and card statements, and you need something that reads a receipt and categorizes the spend before any of it reaches a P&L. Sellers who only reconcile settlements often end up with a very tidy revenue picture and no idea what the business actually cost to run.

Which should you buy?

Buy Taxomate if you are on QuickBooks Online, Xero or Wave, you want settlement entries done properly, and the price difference matters to you. That describes most sellers under a few thousand orders a month, and the $12 entry point with a 14 day trial makes it cheap to find out.

Buy A2X if you are on NetSuite, if your accountant has already built their process around it, or if you are at a volume and complexity where the older, larger product's track record is worth the premium. Do not buy it because a comparison table showed four stacked per-channel plans; ask about the multi-channel bundle first, because it changes the number by a lot.

And if the reconciliation you are stuck on is the bank side rather than the marketplace side, that is a third problem again. Our payout reconciliation guide walks it platform by platform.

All prices in this article were read off taxomate.com and a2xaccounting.com in the first week of September 2026, in USD. Taxomate prices annually where noted and its pricing page is a calculator, so your quote may differ from the published example figures. Both vendors change prices, so confirm the current number on each vendor's own page before you commit.
