In short

Podia has three plans. Mover costs $49 a month and takes a 5% transaction fee, Shaker costs $99 a month and Earthquaker $179 a month, both with no Podia fee. Billed yearly they drop to $42, $84 and $150 a month ($504, $1,008 and $1,800 a year). Stripe or PayPal processing, 2.9% plus $0.30 per US card payment, comes on top on every plan. Each plan includes only 100, 500 or 1,000 email subscribers, and a bigger list is a paid add-on. Shaker becomes cheaper than Mover once you sell $1,000 a month on monthly billing, or $840 a month on yearly billing. Prices were read from podia.com/pricing and Podia's help center on October 7, 2026.

The honest read

Most Podia pricing articles copy the yearly prices on the plan cards and stop there. Three things change what you actually pay. The monthly prices are higher ($49, $99 and $179) and only show behind the billing toggle. The 5% Mover fee decides the plan for anyone selling more than about $1,000 a month. And the email cap is small: 100 subscribers on Mover, so a creator with a 5,000-person list pays $94 a month on Mover before a single sale. This page works the cost at five sales levels, prices the email add-ons tier by tier, and puts Podia next to Kajabi, Payhip, Sellfy, Teachery and Gumroad at the same revenue.

Podia pricing 2026, every plan

US prices in USD from podia.com/pricing (monthly and yearly toggle) and Podia's plans and pricing help article, read on October 7, 2026.

Plan Billed monthly Billed yearly Podia transaction fee Email subscribers included Products, videos, community spaces
Mover $49 a month $42 a month ($504 a year) 5% 100 50 products, 500 videos, 25 spaces
Shaker $99 a month $84 a month ($1,008 a year) 0% 500 150 products, 1,000 videos, 100 spaces, 1 assistant
Earthquaker $179 a month $150 a month ($1,800 a year) 0% 1,000 Unlimited products, videos, spaces and assistants

Affiliate marketing, upsells, PayPal checkout and Zapier start on Shaker. Every plan includes courses, digital downloads, coaching, community, events, a website and blog, a custom domain, landing pages, email and tax collection at checkout. Podia has no free plan; it removed it in October 2024. New accounts get a 14-day trial with no card, not the 30 days some guides still quote.

What Podia really costs a month at five sales levels

Worked on a $50 average order, every buyer paying by card through Stripe at the standard US rate of 2.9% + $0.30, monthly billing, email list inside the plan limit. Each cell is the plan price, plus Podia's fee, plus Stripe processing.

Monthly sales Orders Mover, $49 + 5% Shaker, $99 Earthquaker, $179 Cheapest plan
$500 10 $91.50 $116.50 $196.50 Mover
$1,000 20 $134.00 $134.00 $214.00 Tie
$2,000 40 $219.00 $169.00 $249.00 Shaker
$5,000 100 $474.00 $274.00 $354.00 Shaker
$10,000 200 $849.00 $449.00 $529.00 Shaker

Stripe alone is $17.50, $35, $70, $175 and $350 at these five levels. On yearly billing every plan cell drops by $7, $15 or $29, and Shaker overtakes Mover at $840 a month instead of $1,000. Earthquaker never wins on cost alone; you buy it for unlimited products, videos and assistants or a 1,000-subscriber email allowance.

Podia cost with a bigger email list

Monthly price of each plan including the Podia Email add-on for your list size, from the add-on tiers on podia.com/pricing. Yearly billing in brackets, per month.

Email subscribers Mover Shaker Earthquaker
500 $59 ($50) $99 ($84) $179 ($150)
1,000 $67 ($56) $117 ($98) $179 ($150)
2,500 $77 ($64) $127 ($106) $207 ($172)
5,000 $94 ($78) $144 ($120) $224 ($186)
10,000 $119 ($98) $169 ($140) $249 ($206)
25,000 $184 ($150) $234 ($192) $314 ($258)

Podia counts subscribers, not every contact. It emails you as you near the limit and never upgrades you automatically; if the list shrinks you can step the add-on back down. Add-on tiers continue up to 500,000 subscribers at $1,250 a month.

Podia vs Kajabi, Payhip, Sellfy, Teachery and Gumroad at $2,000 a month

40 orders of $50 from US buyers paying by card, monthly billing. Each total is the subscription, plus the platform fee, plus 2.9% + $0.30 card processing. Rates read from each vendor's pricing or help pages between October 1 and October 7, 2026.

Platform and plan What you pay Cost a month Share of sales Handles US sales tax filing
Podia Mover $49 + 5% + Stripe $219 11.0% No
Podia Shaker $99 + Stripe $169 8.5% No
Kajabi Basic $179 + Kajabi Payments 2.9% + $0.30 $249 12.5% No
Payhip Plus $29 + 2% + Stripe $139 7.0% No, EU and UK VAT only
Sellfy Business (Starter caps sales at $10,000 a year) $79 + Stripe, 0% fee $149 7.5% No
Teachery $49 + Stripe, 0% fee $119 6.0% No
Gumroad, direct sales 10% + $0.50, plus Stripe $290 14.5% Yes, merchant of record

Podia is the only one here that bundles courses, downloads, coaching, a paid community, webinars and email under one login, which is what the Shaker price buys over Teachery or Payhip. Kajabi Basic is $143 a month billed yearly; Podia Shaker is $84.

Which Podia plan to buy

The decision is mostly the 5% fee. Shaker costs $50 a month more than Mover on monthly billing and removes 5% of sales, so it pays for itself at exactly $1,000 a month in sales. On yearly billing the gap is $42, so the line falls to $840 a month. Below that, Mover is cheaper even with the fee.

Earthquaker only makes sense for limits, not fees. It adds unlimited products, videos, community spaces and team assistants, plus 1,000 email subscribers instead of 500. If you run more than 150 products or more than 1,000 videos, or need several assistants, it is the only plan that fits. Otherwise Shaker plus an email add-on is cheaper at every list size we priced: Shaker with 10,000 subscribers is $169, Earthquaker with the same list is $249.

The Podia email cap is the cost most creators miss

Mover includes 100 email subscribers. That is a tiny list for anyone who already teaches or writes online, and once you pass it you pay an add-on: $10 a month for 500, $18 for 1,000, $45 for 5,000 and $70 for 10,000 on top of Mover. A creator moving over with a 5,000-person newsletter pays $94 a month on Mover or $144 on Shaker before the first sale, not the $42 shown on the plan card.

Podia's email tool replaces a separate newsletter service, so compare the add-on with what you pay for email today, not with zero. Podia also migrates your email contacts on every plan, and products as well: up to 50 on Mover and 150 on Shaker and Earthquaker.

Podia transaction fees and processing

Podia charges a 5% transaction fee on Mover and none on Shaker or Earthquaker. Separately, Stripe or PayPal charge their processing fee, which Podia quotes as 2.9% + 30 cents for a standard card and which varies by country and card type. Podia takes nothing on the processing; it goes to the processor.

Sales are paid into your own connected Stripe or PayPal account, so Podia has no payout schedule or payout minimum of its own. Your money follows Stripe's or PayPal's transfer timing to your bank. PayPal checkout is a Shaker feature, so on Mover every buyer pays through Stripe.

Who handles sales tax on Podia

Podia collects sales tax at checkout for the jurisdictions where you tell it you are registered, based on the customer's location. Buyers elsewhere are not charged tax. It does not register, file or remit for you, and it is not a merchant of record. Your invoices export includes the customer address, tax amount, tax name, rate and tax ID, which is what your accountant needs to file.

That is the trade against Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy, which charge a bigger cut and file sales tax for you. If your state taxes digital products and you sell to buyers there, budget for the filing work or a tax tool on top of the Podia plan.

Where Podia money lands, and how to see your take-home

Podia's invoices page shows each sale with subtotal, discount, the Podia fee where it applies, revenue and tax, and the export arrives as a CSV in your inbox. What it cannot show is the processor fee Stripe or PayPal took, or your income from everywhere else you earn: a YouTube channel, brand deals, Patreon, a Gumroad or Etsy shop.

Earnly reads the Stripe and PayPal CSV exports you upload, so your Podia sales land on one board with gross, fees and take-home next to every other platform you earn from, with a payout calendar and a next-month forecast that is always labeled an estimate. It does not process payments or file taxes. See Earnly plans or the multi-platform income tracker.

Podia vs Kajabi and the cheaper course platforms

Kajabi Basic is $179 a month ($143 billed yearly), the same monthly price as Podia Earthquaker, and both take no transaction fee when you use their payments. At $2,000 a month in $50 orders, Kajabi Basic costs about $249 all in against $169 on Podia Shaker. Kajabi's case is its funnel and pipeline builder; Podia's is the lower entry price with courses, community and email still in one place.

If you mostly sell downloads, Payhip Plus at $29 plus 2% is cheaper, and our Payhip pricing page works it at five sales levels. If you want one fixed price for courses only, Teachery is $49 a month with no fee. For more options side by side, see Gumroad alternatives and Stan Store alternatives, both priced at $2,000 and $10,000 a month.

Questions people actually ask

How much does Podia cost per month?

Podia costs $49 a month for Mover, $99 for Shaker and $179 for Earthquaker on monthly billing. Billed yearly the same plans cost $42, $84 and $150 a month, or $504, $1,008 and $1,800 a year. Mover adds a 5% transaction fee, and Stripe or PayPal processing applies on every plan.

Does Podia charge transaction fees?

Podia charges a 5% transaction fee on the Mover plan and no transaction fee on Shaker or Earthquaker. Your payment processor charges separately on every plan: Podia quotes 2.9% plus 30 cents per standard card payment through Stripe or PayPal, and that money goes to the processor, not Podia.

Is there a free version of Podia?

No. Podia has no free plan; it removed it on October 14, 2024. New accounts get a 14-day trial with full access and no credit card, then need Mover, Shaker or Earthquaker. Several guides still say 30 days, but Podia's pricing page and help center both say 14.

Is Podia cheaper than Kajabi?

Yes. Podia Shaker is $99 a month against $179 for Kajabi Basic, and $84 against $143 billed yearly. At $2,000 a month in $50 orders, Podia Shaker costs about $169 including Stripe processing and Kajabi Basic about $249 including Kajabi Payments. On monthly billing Podia Earthquaker and Kajabi Basic are both $179.

When should I upgrade from Podia Mover to Shaker?

Upgrade when your sales stay above $1,000 a month on monthly billing, or $840 a month on yearly billing. Above that line the 5% Mover fee costs more than the price difference. Shaker also unlocks affiliate marketing, upsells, PayPal checkout and Zapier, and raises the included email list from 100 to 500.

How many email subscribers do Podia plans include?

Mover includes 100 email subscribers, Shaker 500 and Earthquaker 1,000. Larger lists are a paid add-on: on Mover, 1,000 subscribers costs $18 a month extra, 5,000 costs $45 and 10,000 costs $70. Podia warns you near the limit and never upgrades you automatically.

Can I get a refund from Podia?

Podia refunds your most recent payment if you ask within 72 hours of the monthly or annual charge. It does not give prorated refunds on monthly or annual plans, and refunds take 5 to 10 business days. If you cancel, your site goes offline at the end of the billing cycle and data is deleted after 180 days.

Does Podia handle sales tax?

Podia collects sales tax at checkout for the jurisdictions where you are registered, and its invoices export lists tax amount, name, rate and tax ID for each sale. It does not register, file or remit sales tax for you, so it is not a merchant of record like Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy.
