Sellfy Pricing and Cost With the Yearly Sales Caps

October 2026 · 7 min read · by the Earnly team

Sellfy has three plans: Starter at $29 a month, Business at $79 and Premium at $159, or $22, $59 and $119 a month billed yearly. None of them takes a transaction fee. What you pay for instead is a yearly sales cap: Starter covers up to $10,000 in sales a year, Business up to $50,000 and Premium up to $200,000. Stripe or PayPal processing, typically 2.9% plus $0.30 a sale, comes on top.

We read Sellfy's pricing page, its plan comparison table and its pricing FAQ on October 7, 2026. Most Sellfy pricing articles list the three cards and call it a day. The part that decides your bill is the cap, because it ties the plan you must buy to your revenue, and crossing a line by one dollar moves you up a whole tier.

Selling on Sellfy and somewhere else too?

Earnly puts gross, fees and take-home from every platform you earn on into one board, with a payout calendar for each, so you can see your Sellfy sales for the year next to everything else.

Yearly billing saves 25%. Every plan sells digital downloads, subscriptions, physical products and print on demand, with unlimited products, coupon codes, customer reviews, your own domain and Sellfy's VAT and tax settings. The maximum file size rises from 10 GB on Starter to 15 GB on Business and 20 GB on Premium.

What Business and Premium add

Business is where Sellfy turns into a sales tool. It adds product upselling, cart abandonment emails, an affiliate program, custom checkout fields, store design migration on an annual plan, and it removes the Sellfy branding from your store. Starter keeps the branding and has none of the growth features.

Premium adds priority support and product migration, where Sellfy's team uploads your files and descriptions for you over 5 to 20 business days. Feature for feature, Premium is Business with a higher cap and faster help. Most sellers buy it because their revenue forces them to, not for the extras.

How the Sellfy sales cap works

Sellfy prices by yearly sales volume. Its FAQ says that if you go over the cap for your plan, you are expected to upgrade to the next plan, and Sellfy notifies you when you reach the limit. There is no overage fee and no percentage charged on the extra sales. The cost is the jump in subscription.

That jump is steep at the bottom. A seller doing $9,500 a year fits Starter at $264 a year on yearly billing. At $10,500 the same seller needs Business at $708 a year, so $1,000 more in sales costs $444 more in plan fees. On monthly billing the gap is $600 a year. Between $50,000 and $60,000 the step from Business to Premium costs another $720 a year billed yearly.

So the useful question before you buy is not which plan has the features you want, but what your sales will be over the next twelve months. Plan on the year you expect, including a launch or a holiday season, and pay yearly only once you are confident you will stay inside the cap.

What Sellfy really costs at five sales levels

Worked on a $40 average order, every buyer paying by card through Stripe at the standard US rate of 2.9% plus $0.30. The plan is the cheapest one whose cap covers the year's sales.

Two things stand out. The plan itself is a small share of revenue at every level, between about 1% and 3.3% on yearly billing, so Stripe is usually your biggest cost on Sellfy. And the share falls as you grow inside a plan, which is the point of a flat price: a Premium seller at $150,000 pays the same $1,428 as one at $60,000.

Sellfy pricing compared with Payhip, Podia, Gumroad and Lemon Squeezy

At $2,000 a month ($24,000 a year) in $40 orders, 50 orders a month, all from US buyers paying by card. Each total is the subscription on monthly billing, plus the platform fee, plus processing.

Gumroad, direct sales10% + $0.50, plus Stripe$29814.9%Yes, merchant of record

On yearly billing Sellfy is close to the cheapest option at this revenue, and it is the only one in the table with print on demand built in, so a creator selling ebooks and shirts from one store pays one bill. Lemon Squeezy is cheaper still and files sales tax for you, but it is built around software, license keys and subscriptions rather than merch. Payhip Plus is the closest match for downloads and courses; our Payhip pricing breakdown works its plans at five sales levels, and Podia pricing does the same for Podia, including the email add-ons. How Sellfy pays you

Sellfy does not hold your money. Each payment goes straight to the PayPal or Stripe account you connect, at the moment of purchase, so there is no Sellfy payout schedule and no payout minimum. From there your money follows Stripe's or PayPal's own transfer timing to your bank.

Because the money lands in Stripe or PayPal, the processor fees show up there and not in Sellfy's dashboard. That split is where sellers lose sight of take-home. Earnly reads the Stripe and PayPal CSV exports you upload, so your Sellfy sales sit on one board with gross, fees and take-home next to YouTube, Etsy, Gumroad, Patreon and the other places you earn, with a payout calendar and a next-month forecast that is always labeled an estimate. Seeing gross by platform month by month also tells you how close you are to the Sellfy cap before the upgrade notice arrives. See Earnly plans or the multi-platform income tracker. Once the payouts reach your business account, your bookkeeper can match each deposit against the bank statement instead of ticking them off by hand.

Is Sellfy worth it

Sellfy is worth it for creators who sell a mix of downloads, subscriptions and merch, earn between a few thousand and $200,000 a year, and want one flat price with no cut of their sales. It is weaker if your revenue sits just above a cap, if you need someone else to file US sales tax, or if you only sell one ebook and do a few hundred dollars a year, where a percentage-only platform costs less than $264.

Sellfy gives a full refund within 30 days of upgrading if it does not work out, and new accounts start on a 14-day trial. Use the trial to check two numbers: your expected sales for the year against the caps, and the processor fees on your average order.
